Sea kayaking has to be one of the most exciting ways to travel, it allows us to venture to places that are normally not easy to access.
The wide variety of beautiful scenery and abundance of wildlife around the Scottish coastline make this a must for those who enjoy adventurous travel.
East Lothian has over 40 miles of magnificent coastline and golden, award winning beaches and is therefore an ideal location for an introduction to Sea Kayaking.
Venturing Out offer introductory and intermediate courses, coaching and guided trips both on the east and west coast. We cater for a variety of clients from 14 years plus.
We offer programmed dates throughout the year and can also deliver extra sessions on request. The maximum ratio of staff to participants is 1:6
The sea kayaks that we use are very stable and relatively easy to control. It is important that you have previous general kayaking experience before opting to sea kayak!
Venturing Out supply all the required equipment and technical clothing.

The Introduction to Sea Kayaking Course is structured to give you knowledge about journeying coastal waters. The following elements are covered during the day. Journeying, Packing & equipment, Launch sites, Sea state, Navigation, Planning & preparing for journeys, Paddling techniques, Coastal journey. It is important that you have previous kayak experience!
